Reporting a potential breach/transgression in research integrity

No formal template for reporting a potential breach in responsible conduct of research/research integrity has been developed as each case is unique.

Should you wish to report a potential breach/transgression in responsible conduct of research/research integrity contact both the applicable Executive Dean/Deputy Dean: Research and Innovation and the Research Integrity Officer in the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research and Innovation:

For the Faculties the applicable Executive Dean (ED) or Deputy Dean: Research and Innovation (DD: R&I)

AND

The  Research Integrity Officer (RIO) in the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor : Prof Minrie Greeff at minrie.greeff@nwu.ac.za  
Days available for meetings, discussions or consultations: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

Write a formal letter

In a formal written letter the alleger should indicate:

  1. The nature of the possible breach;
  2. The act of the researcher;
  3. The Faculty’s research integrity SOP describing the breach; AND
  4. Which documents have been attached to provide the necessary merits and grounds for reporting the case. 

Please attach all the documents that will support the allegation.

Submit the letter to the above-mentioned RIO AND applicable Executive Dean or Deputy-Dean: Research and Innovation.
