Description
You are cordially invited to the Understanding Research Data Management in the Context of POPIA Regulation Workshop. Senior Researchers, Research Supervisors, Emerging researchers, ethics committee members, Scientific committee members are invited to join. Only NWU staff will be allowed to attend in person.

Objectives of the workshop:
- To understand the fundamentals of Research Data Management.
- Navigate the world of secondary data use for research.
- To be able to apply POPIA principles in research projects.
- To understand the complexities of collecting data via online platforms.
- To understand future practices of research data management at the NWU
Learning outcomes:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the principles and best practices of Research Data
- Management with the research environment.
- Explore key principles of sharing and accessing secondary data in research, including
- Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs).
- Understand how to apply the POPIA code of conduct in the research environment.
- Understand use of social media platforms when doing data collection (pros and cons)
- Understand future practices of research data management at the NWU.
