The Africa Unit for Transdisciplinary Health Research (AUTHeR) is proud to announce a webinar about the Epidemiology for Public Health (The theory and the practice), presented by Prof Cristian Ricci, an experienced biomedical statistician. Prof Cristian shares his expertise on Epidemiology for Public Health. This webinar will be beneficial to supervisors, postgraduates, lecturers and researchers.
Abstract
Investigating the determinants of disease at a population level is the key to global wellness. In this perspective, epidemiology represents the cornerstone of public health. In this three-day webinar, you will learn the basic concepts of observational epidemiology through real-life examples with a major focus on study quality, study design, bias management, and the research strategy of non-communicable diseases. Enhanced emphasis will be given to data management and data analysis.
The webinar will be on the following days:
- Day 1 (23 August 2022) : Introduction to observational epidemiology
- Day 2 (24 August 2022): The classification of epidemiologic studies
- Day 3 (25 August 2022): Management and analysis of epidemiologic data, interpretation of results.
