Alfred Tembo holds a PhD in History from the University of the Free State. Alfred is currently a lecturer in African history in the Department of Historical and Archaeology Studies at the University of Zambia where he is also the Head of the same Department. He has published in various peer-reviewed international journals mainly on the relationship between Zambia and the Second World War. His recent book is titled: War and Society in Colonial Zambia and published by Ohio University Press in 2021. His thesis focused on the impact of the Second World War on Colonial Zambia. Dr Tembo leads the Zambian team in the academic network relationship with the NWU’s School of Social Science (Subject Group History). He is also a Steering Committee member of the Regional History Society of Southern Africa.
