Rita's talk:
Title: Constraining Interacting Sark Energy Models with Cosmological Data.
Abstract: The initial motivation of Interacting dark energy models was to alleviate the cosmological coincidence problem; however, these models have recently gained popularity in emphasizing the discrepancy between Hubble measurements from late and early time cosmological measurements. I will give a talk on the background of cosmology in the framework of non-gravitational interactions between dark matter and dark energy models with the latest cosmological data. By considering five phenomenological models, we explored the deviation of each model from the ΛCDM to systematically investigate the implications of alternative cosmological scenarios. Using baryonic acoustic oscillation data released from the dark energy spectroscopic instrument (BAO DESI ), Pantheon+ Supernovae Type Ia combined with SH0ES Cepheid (PantheonP + SH0ES ), and cosmic chronometer (CC ) datasets, the cosmological parameters Ωm, ξ, ω and H0 for each model were constrained. We further assess the viability of all models compared to ΛCDM by performing the statistical analysis through Bayesian evidence. The results indicate that one of these models, remains a better candidate than the other IDE models.
Thulo's talk:
Title: Searching for persistent radio emission towards selected Fast Radio Burst positions.
Abstract: Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are brief, intense radio transients of extragalactic origin whose physical nature remains one of the most compelling questions in modern astrophysics. The identification of persistent radio sources (PRSs) associated with FRBs provides valuable insights into the evolution, energetics, and formation mechanisms of FRBs.
"In this talk, I will present our analysis of seven well-localised FRB fields observed with the MeerKAT radio telescope. Using the OXKAT3 pipeline and multi-wavelength cross-referencing, we searched these fields for the persistent emission that might reveal the FRB progenitors."
