Topic: Service Learning in the Kenyan Context: Unique Approach, Implementing and Sustaining.

The content of this workshop will delve into the unique aspects of service learning within Tangaza University in Kenya. It will explore how SL is understood and practiced locally by Alumni of the university, considering cultural nuances, community needs and existing initiatives. It would also point out the challenges and opportunities, which are specific to implementing SL programs in Kenya and Africa in general. It is an important workshop for educators, administrators and SL practitioners since it will highlight unique approaches to integrating SL into curriculum, input on sustaining SL at African universities, share successful stories of SL community engagements, as well as pin pointing collaboration opportunities between North-West University in SA and Tangaza University in Nairobi, Kenya.
