2. More than 350 million people are affected globally
3. 1 in 15 people in SA is affected by a rare disease
4. 50% of people affected by Rare Diseases are children
5. 80% of Rare Diseases are genetics
6. +- 30% of children with a Rare Disease won’t see their 5th birthday
