You are cordially invited to a public lecture about The Story of Our Cosmic Origin (and some lessons from past blunders). In this lecture, Prof Amare Abebe Gidelew will give a brief overview of current scientific understanding of the universe, its origin, and evolution.

A few questions that will be answered:

• How did the universe originate?
• How are the structures in it (large-scale structures, galaxies, stars, planets, etc) formed?
• What are dark matter and dark energy, and how do they affect the expansion history of the universe?
• What will the ultimate fate of the universe be?
