Description
Life, Love and the Ridiculous:
1821 – 2021
Catrien Wentink (piano); Morné van Heerden (clarinet); André Oosthuizen (flute)
Flute, clarinet and piano come together with a unique romantic chamber music programme on the 28th of September at 18:30 in the NWU Conservatory Hall. In this programme, we pay tribute to Camille Saint-Saëns on the 100th anniversary of his death by performing one of his early works, the catchy Tarantella Op.6 for flute, clarinet and piano and one of his last works, the Clarinet Sonata op. 167. The 200th anniversary of Franz Doppler’s birth is celebrated with the Andante and Rondo transcribed for flute, clarinet and piano (originally for two flutes and piano). Find out more...
