Description

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Community Engagement cordially invites you to a campus wide community engagement showcase. Community engagement at universities is a process that aims to promote development, generate new knowledge, and foster collaborative learning by addressing real-life challenges faced by communities. It involves the active participation of students, staff, and community partners in finding solutions to complex societal problems, with the goal of creating mutually beneficial outcomes. At North-West University (NWU), the CE leadership within faculties, along with student leadership and institutional support teams, work together to promote a scholarship of engagement in community initiatives. This approach goes beyond simply providing aid or sharing expertise; it emphasises the importance of critically assessing the impact and sustainability of their efforts. The ultimate goal is to create spaces for reflection and discussion on the tangible differences that community engagement efforts make, ensuring that these initiatives are both equitable and sustainable. Faculties, students, and support staff are invited to showcase their CE products or projects at this event.
