On 22 December 2023, the Minister of Health, the Honourable Dr Joe Phaahla, granted written permission to the North-West University to proceed with the establishment of the NWU Medical School.
Since then, we have been diligently progressing with the technical work required to prepare for this new school and the complex new qualification. We eagerly anticipate welcoming our first cohort of students in 2028. We cordially invite you to join the Vice-Chancellor, the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the NWU Medical School Project Lead, and the core team for a discussion about the Medical School.
We have scheduled two sessions on 21 August 2024 (1st session @ 11:30-13:00 & 2nd session @ 14:00-15:30), and both staff and students are welcome to join any of these sessions virtually. Both sessions are exactly the same, please select one of the proposed times. During these sessions, we will introduce the NWU Medical School and the medical programme, share details on the clinical training platform, and discuss the extent of the preparatory work. We will also introduce the leads of the different workstreams within the NWU Medical School Project, and then allow attendees to engage with these experts.
