The Research Output, Outcomes & Impact Community of Practice (CoP-ROOI) is composed of individuals such as research and innovation administrators, managers, and professionals. This group aims to cultivate social capital, foster the creation of fresh knowledge, encourage innovation, and exchange insights regarding the management of research output and its effects.

Purpose:

This note serves the objective of providing the Executive Director for Corporate Relations & Marketing with a concise overview of the introduction of the Collaborative Research Output, Outcomes & Impact Community of Practice (CoP-ROOI). This initiative is the result of a joint partnership between the Southern African Research & Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) and North-West University.

Goals of the CoP-ROOI

The goals of the Research Output & Impact Community of Practice are as follows:

  • Work toward solutions to issues identified as priorities within the research output and impact space.

  • Evaluate the success of the CoP on a regular basis.

  • Look for partnerships/collaboration with research management associations in Africa and research managers/administrators in the diaspora.

  • Develop and support management of research output and impact.

  • Identify unrecognised pockets of best practices and related projects across the research management profession and share work openly on local and internationally recognised platforms.

  • Encourage standards/frameworks adoption.
