Bio: Prof Sioux McKenna

Professor Sioux McKenna is a professor of Higher Education Studies and is the director of the Centre for Postgraduate Studies at Rhodes University. She is a B rated scientist and is internationally recognised for her research on the aims and purposes of higher education. She is particularly interested in how knowledge is created in different contexts and how researchers come to take on the practices of their fields. Sioux heads up several large funded projects directed towards enhancing postgraduate education across the continent and is the recipient of the 2022 Vice-Chancellor’s book award and 2022 Rhodes University internationalisation award.
