Speakers:

  1. Lance Bunt: Lance Bunt is a lecturer in South Africa with an academic background and a focus on innovative learning methods. He earned a Communications degree from NWU in 2013, an Honours in Communication and Media Studies in 2014, a Master of Science degree in IT in 2020, and a PhD in IT in 2023. His research interests include serious game design, ludic theory in higher education, game-based learning, instructional technology, and effective pedagogy. Lance is skilled in areas such as serious games, game development, technology- enhanced learning, user experience, and gamification. Lance's expertise spans arts and humanities, computer graphics, instructional design, graphic design, teacher education, and educational technology. He is dedicated to integrating technology and pedagogy to enhance learning experiences.
  2. Prof Yolande Heymans: Prof is an Associate Professor in the Centre for Health Professions Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, North-West University. As module coordinator, she co-teaches an aligned, undergraduate module with 1500 students within an online modality. Her main research focuses on health professions education in the higher education context, specifically referring to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, enhancing student engagement, interprofessional collaborative learning, large class teaching, online learning, and authentic pedagogy. Yolande supervises postgraduate students in health professions education, and publications include journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
