2nd SADC Community Law Seminar - Call for Abstracts

The NWU welcomeS submissions of abstracts for papers to be presented at a hybrid seminar to be held at the National University of Lesotho, from scholars in the field of law, practitioners in the field, scholars from other disciplines, public servants, government officials, students, and those working in non-governmental organisations.

Abstracts should discuss the SADC transformation issue or any other sub-theme connected to the seminar's main theme. Participants are advised to concentrate on SADC transformation in the context of:

1. Citizens’ participation in SADC processes
2. SADC’s peace and security architecture
3. Terrorism and terrorism financing
4. Economic integration
5. Bilateral arrangements, such as Economic Partnership Agreements
6. Sovereign debt
7. Free movement of people
8. Sustainable exploitation of natural resources
9. Social security/protection coverage (portability of benefits)
10. Intellectual property and natural resources management
11. Human rights and the sustainable development goals
12. Agriculture and food security
13. Industrialization and regional value chains
14. Climate change

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 2 May 2023 (not more than 300 words).
