The University of Dar es Salaam will be collaborating with other partners to host the 24th Symposium. For the past 23 years, the Symposium have taken place every year in the Eastern and Southern African regions. Their purpose has been to facilitate engagement among policymakers, academics, and practitioners in water and related fields, along with collaborating partners. This collective effort aims to pinpoint regional concerns, deficiencies, and areas of focus that demand additional investigation and assistance.
This year's theme is Accelerating Change: Fostering Innovation and Integration for Sustainable Water Resources Management in Eastern and Southern Africa.
The sub-themes chosen for this year's symposium are closely linked to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as the themes of World Water Day 2023 and the SADC Water Research Agenda as outlined in the Regional Strategic Action Plan (RSAP) for Integrated Water Resources Development and Management Phase V.
