AIM: To create awareness on gender based violence for students and staff at the NWU Potchefstroom campus so that we can have a safe Campus
Gender based violence (GBV) continues to be a problem in South Africa and the North-West University is no exception. It is for this reason as student counselling and development together with SALT and Student Campus Council under the Current Affairs portfolio are launching an awareness campaign that will see students and staff take GBV seriously. If we want GBV to end in our society and communities, we must take this problem seriously. The president has announced that GBV will have a strategic plan and this shows how serious the problem is. Therefore, we also want to take a lead as a university in fighting this problem.
