Title: “With the help of God, saints and valour: Religious military practices and battle liturgy on British battlefields of the 14th century”.

Speaker:

Dr. Jörg Rogge is Professor of History, Middle Ages, at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (JGU), Germany. His main research interests are methods and theories of Cultural History, social, military, and the cultural history of urban and noble societies with a focus on the gender history and environmental history. He is also interested in the History of Southern Africa. Rogge is a participating researcher of the Research Training Group 2304: Byzantium and the Euro-Mediterranean Cultures of War - Exchange, Differentiation and Reception. He is an esteemed member of the European Academy of Science and Arts (Headquarter is in Salzburg, Austria). Rogge is the former chair and continues to be a committee member of the International Society for Cultural History. He is also a member of the editorial board of the South African Journal of Cultural History. Rogge is the author and editor of several publications.
