A new way of learning, Parents

When it comes to student pass rates, the NWU has a strong track record. Some of the reasons for this good performance are the high quality of teaching-learning, our well-qualified academic staff and the academic support available to students, such as through Supplemental Instruction.

Supplemental Instruction is a student academic support system that is used at universities worldwide. It involves training students who perform well in certain disciplines as facilitators who help small groups of other students to master these disciplines. Supplemental Instruction is successfully used at all three of our campuses and has contributed significantly to the steady improvement in undergraduate pass rates since 2004.

Another focus of academic support is on helping first-time students to make the transition from school to university.
