Giving

Giving week

As the North-West University gears up for this year’s Giving Week, we extend a bold invitation to all members of the NWU community, students, staff, alumni, and partners, to unite in support of deserving students. Giving Week is not merely a fundraising campaign; it’s a rallying call to come together as a community that believes in student potential

NWU Giving Week is not just about donations; it’s about coming together to support our students, enabling them to reach new heights with the backing of a community that believes in their potential.

What is Giving Week?

Scheduled for 1–6 September 2025, NWU Giving Week is a dedicated time to foster a culture of giving and to raise critical funds that open doors to academic success.

Purpose: Your gift, their future

Donations will be channelled into two vital support pillars:

  • Student Debt Relief: Helping academically deserving students clear existing fees so they can graduate or register for the 2026 academic year.
  • Bursary Support: Ensuring final-year students with financial constraints can continue and complete their qualifications

Benefits that give back

Giving is not only impactful but also rewarding. Contributors will receive:

  • A Section 18A tax certificate, enabling eligible donors to claim a tax deduction.
  • B-BBEE benefits for corporate donors, helping organisations fulfil social responsibility and compliance goals

How you can make a difference

  • Lead by Example: Be among the first to contribute and spark a wave of generosity across NWU.
  • Spread the Word: Share posts, engage colleagues, friends, and family, help us amplify the message.
