Description

Research Support, in partnership with Kerlick Editorial & Research Solutions, is set to host the Write, Publish, Thrive: RSD Article Writing Workshop Initiatives – by the Kerlick team & NWU representatives. Those interested in: “Article-writing for research publication” & “Supervisor Training for Student Article-writing” workshops are invited to join.

 

Kerlick:

  • Dr Graham Baker - D.Phil. (1970) in the Physical Sciences: Dr. Baker began his career with John Maddox at Nature in London and Washington before taking on the role of editor for the SA Journal of Science, which he held for more than thirty years. Additionally, he served as the General Editor for the SA Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Monograph Series and played a pivotal role as a founding member of the editorial board and chair of the management committee for the South African science publication, Quest: Science for South Africa. Over the years, he also contributed his expertise as a consultant, reviewer, and guest editor for numerous professional scientific and technical endeavors.
  • Dr Elisabeth Lickindorf D.Phil. in English from - Oxford University: Dr. Lickindorf dedicated 21 years to teaching in South African universities and attained the position of professor while leading the Department of English at the University of Port Elizabeth. During the inception of the widely acclaimed science publication, Quest: Science for South Africa, he served as its inaugural editor for its initial four years. In addition to his academic role, he conducted professional communication courses at Wits University for a dozen years. Notably, he still offers valuable technical editorial support to researchers and professionals in South Africa and beyond, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the field.
