Threads Exhibition Opening

The NWU Gallery, in partnership with the Faculty of Education, proudly presents a curated selection of artworks by the 2024 Visual Art for Education students. Through their projects, students explore, reimagine, and engage with contemporary art practices, while also addressing themes of inquiry into the world, within the world, and among each other (Freire 1970:69). The diverse installations are unified by threads of interconnectedness, reflecting the bonds between individuals and communities.

This exhibition highlights the significance of collaboration and shared stories, celebrating how artistic expression connects us to one another, to our histories, our experiences, and our future. Mabogo dinku a a thebana.

Curated by the 2024 3rd-year Visual Art for Education students, under the mentorship of lecturer Linda Hesse, the exhibition opens on 23 October 2024 and runs until 1 November 2024.
