Description

The Faculty of Health Sciences kindly invites you to the Tampere University of Applied Sciences' (TAMK) visit to the NWU. This trip aims to improve current partnerships and look into potential new ones. Undergraduate teaching and learning, as well as community engagement initiatives, will be the main topics of discussion at this meeting, while research opportunities may also be examined.

The following is scheduled:

  • Meeting with NWU management (Deans, deputy-deans, HODs, programme managers (VC/Deputy-VC if available)) to re-introduce TAMK and present current TAMK activities (presentation will be made by TAMK)
  • Individual Faculty meetings with dedicated staff to discuss current, new and potential collaboration opportunities.
  • Dedicated staff from TAMK that will be visiting:
    • Mr Louis Botha (Engineering)
    • Krista Merikoski (Grant expert: general student exchange – all disciplines)
    • Eeva Heikkilä (Project Management: project leader of the SexEd project – Nursing, Social work, Education)
  • Specific NWU faculties which they would like to meet during this visit:
    • Health Sciences
    • Engineering
    • Education
    • Business Management
    • NWU international office staff

Programme:

  1. Monday 29 May 2023: Morning – arrive in Potchefstroom
  2. Monday 29 May 2023: Afternoon – TAMK presentation to all interested parties
  3. Monday 29 May 2023: Evening – Social meeting with visitors – Please indicate interest
  4. Tuesday 30 May 2023: Morning – visit to various Faculties/ Schools on PC
  5. Tuesday 30 May 2023: Afternoon – online meetings with VC and MC
  6. Tuesday 30 May 2023: Evening – Social meeting with visitors – Please indicate interest
  7. Wednesday 31 May 2023: Morning – Individual meetings for projects that require immediate planning
  8. Wednesday 31 May 2023: Afternoon – Return to Pretoria
