The Higher Degrees Student Development Support team cordially invites you to attend the Scientific Communication workshop. 4th Year/Honours, Masters and Doctoral students are welcome.

The workshop aims to:

To strengthen postgraduate students’ capacity to communicate scientific research clearly, effectively, and ethically across academic and non-academic platforms.

Objectives:

  • Provide postgraduate students with a conceptual understanding of scientific communication principles and academic discourse conventions.
  • Develop students’ ability to structure and organise scientific arguments coherently in written academic formats.
  • Enhance students’ competence in preparing and delivering effective oral and visual research presentations.
  • Expose students to strategies for adapting scientific communication for diverse audiences, including academic peers, policymakers, and the public.
  • Promote awareness of ethical considerations in scientific communication, including academic integrity and responsible reporting of research findings
