Executive Manager Biosafety South Africa
Dr Hennie Groenewald is the Executive Manager of Biosafety South Africa, a national service platform of the Department of Science and Innovation, responsible for promoting sustainable bio-innovation. Hennie has >30 years of experience in bio-innovation R&D and business development. He previously also worked at Stellenbosch- and North-West Universities and the South African Sugarcane Research Institute.
Hennie has served on numerous organisations tasked with responsible research and innovation, biosafety, risk governance, and sustainable bio-innovation and is currently the president-elect of the International Society for Biosafety Research and serves on the AUDA-NEPAD panel of experts for integrated vector management
