North-West University warmly invites tertiary education lecturers, scholars, and practitioners to participate in our International Teaching Week 2026.

In an increasingly interconnected and diverse world, higher education classrooms are evolving into vibrant multicultural spaces. This year’s theme, “Beyond Inclusion, Many Voices: Transforming Teaching in Multicultural Classrooms", calls for a shift from simply accommodating diversity to actively embracing and amplifying the multiple voices, identities, and epistemologies present in our learning environments.

We seek to create a collaborative platform where educators from across the globe can engage in meaningful dialogue, share innovative teaching practices, and explore transformative approaches that foster equity, belonging, and academic success for all students.

Who Should Participate?

  • University lecturers and professors
  • Educational developers and academic support staff
  • Researchers in higher education and pedagogy
  • Curriculum designers and policy practitioners

 

Focus Areas May Include (but are not limited to):

  • Decolonising curricula and pedagogies
  • Inclusive and culturally responsive teaching strategies
  • Multilingualism in higher education
  • Student voice and participatory learning
  • Technology-enhanced learning in diverse classrooms
  • Assessment practices for equity and inclusion

Submission Details:

Interested participants are invited to submit an abstract (250–300 words) outlining their proposed contribution, including its relevance to the theme and format of delivery. Notification of Acceptance: 22 June 2026

Registration fee: 900 USD/ 750 Euro

Other expenses: Please note that participants will be responsible for their own flight tickets, transport from airport to accommodation and back to airport and additional excursions.  The registration fee includes accommodation (B & B) from Sunday (23 August to Friday, 28 August), transportation during the International Teaching Week, lunch and certain excursions and functions that will be communicated with selected attendees.
