There were over 2000 students who attended the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Virtual Career Fairs in 2020, for 2021 the Career Centre promises to pull out all the stops. The Career Centre will host four specialized virtual career fairs during March 2021.

With over 600 000 people losing their jobs during Covid-19 lockdown, the virtual career fair is aimed at exposing students and graduates to potential employers and exciting job opportunities. It also aims to give organisations the opportunity to engage with students.

Students are invited to attend as organisations will share their internships, part-time work opportunities, graduate and vacation work programmes.

Value for your money

The NWU is also calling on companies from all sectors to sign up and exhibit at the various Virtual Career Fairs.

According to Hloni Putsoane the Employer Engagement Consultant at the Career Centre, the one good thing with these career fairs is that there are no travelling and accommodation costs for companies because the fair takes place in a virtual platform.

He adds that, companies get to choose how they want their virtual exhibition booth to look, by choosing from various available templates, that also allow business to use their branding.

Companies will also get full access to the NWU’s talent from across the three campuses and up to 10 company representatives get to connect remotely and simultaneously chat to students via the live chat functionality available within the platform.
