The School of Government Studies, Political Studies and International Relations cordially invite you to a webinar by Dr Rosina Foli from the University of Ghana. From Ghana to South Africa, similarities in the health, education, and related policy programs raised public concerns about foreign nationals. The politics of social policy have polarised Africans. How do we facilitate solidarity, compassion, and rule of law in this context?

Bio:

Rosina Foli is a Senior lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana. She has a doctorate in Public Policy from the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan. She has teaching and research experience in public policy analysis, political institutions, policymaking, developing country studies (Africa specific) and global governance. Her research interests include social policy, governance and poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa and transnational policy processes. In her recently published book, The Making of Anti-Poverty Policies in Ghana: Transnational Actors, Processes and Mechanisms, she examines the role of transnational actors in the framing of social programs in developing countries using Ghana as a case study. Her current research focuses on exploring the impact of external actors on social policymaking in Africa, the state and social policies, social policy and inequality in sub-Saharan Africa.
