Theme: Repositioning African Philosophy in the Decoloniality of Curriculum in the Twenty-First Century as a Companion.
Dr. Mokhutso’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Theology degree from the Theological Education by Extension College in 2008. He furthered his studies with an Honors degree in Christian Spirituality from the University of South Africa in 2012. He later pursued a Master of Theology degree with the University of the Free State, where his research focus was on the “African Traditional Bereavement Rituals among Methodist Church members in Mamelodi, Pretoria,” under the supervision of Prof. Luvuyo Ntombana which he completed in 2019. He later completed his PhD in Religion Studies at the University of the Free State in December 2023, with a dissertation titled “The African traditional philosophy of community as the enabler or disabler of the Christian faith,” supervised by Prof. Joel Mokhoathi.
