You are cordially invited to the Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) Workshop.
Burnout is now recognised internationally as a distinct occupational phenomenon, yet many organi-sations still lack a valid, reliable way to measure it. This half-day workshop introduces the Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT), developed by Prof. Wilmar Schaufeli and validated across dozens of countries as a practical, evidence-based instrument for identifying and assessing burnout in the work-place.
Participants will be guided through the theoretical foundations of the BAT, how it distinguishes burnout from related constructs such as depression and general work stress, and how it can be applied and interpreted in South African and international contexts. Prof. Leon de Beer will draw on his work with the international BAT Research Consortium - including large-scale cross-national studies - to address questions of measurement, cultural comparability, and practical application.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a working understanding of the BAT's structure and scoring, and the confidence to apply it within their own research or organisational settings.
