award-winning ALUMNI

Hats off to our

WELL

DONE

There are few things more rewarding than seeing our NWU students excel after they have left the university.

The coveted NWU Alumni Awards were presented to deserving alumni for the seventh time.

Previous recipients include respected South Africans such as Prof Anis Karodia, Judge Yvonne Mokgoro, Dr Bismark Tyobeka, Prof Pieter Stoker, former President FW de Klerk, Judge Frans Kgomo and Prof TT Cloete, among others.

Among the cream of the crop

Praise for our amazing alumni

Paying tribute to the award recipients, Prof Dan Kgwadi, principal and vice-chancellor of the NWU, said they could be proud of their alma mater. The NWU is an excellent institution that is doing very well, he said, as is evident from its performance in sector rankings and ratings, locally and internationally.

Some of the highlights he mentioned were the NWU being rated as the safest university in South Africa and consistently being ranked among the cream of the crop of local universities.

Our top alumni, whose excellence germinated in NWU soil and later blossomed in society, received well-deserved acknowledgment at a glamorous Alumni Awards of Excellence ceremony in Sandton on 26 November.

During this hybrid event, which some guests and award recipients attended in person, while the others from all over the world watched the live stream, prominent alumni received awards in nine categories.

These alumni have all excelled professionally in their respective fields of expertise and made exemplary contributions to society – nationally and internationally.
