A language called art
Jaco van der Walt, manager for NWU Arts – Potchefstroom Campus, says the arts is a universal language and it is important to invest in this because language builds bridges between people and cultures.
“The festival is a week-long occasion that starts with among others Pukki Visual and Pukki Classical. It is concluded with the gala events.
“Except for the students and staff that perform, those who buy tickets are also exposed to various genres that include theatre, dance, classical music and the visual arts - entertainment and art which they may not usually get the opportunity to experience.”
“The audience can hear anything from Verdi and Mozart, ballet numbers and enjoy rock and pop bands.”
Talent in abundance – the 35th Pukki Talent Festival was an explosion of powerful performances, enjoyable classics and extraordinary talent. Students and staff had the opportunity to showcase their unique gifts through entertaining and inspiring performances.
