This is us

Knowing our enemy

Since the Covid-19 pandemic started wreaking havoc all over the world, we have been bombarded with information about the corona virus that causes the illness.

Despite this information overload, many of us still don’t really know exactly what dirty tricks this unwelcome guest in our bodies is up to.

This video – as part of the learning material that you have to look at before taking the Covid-19 training test on eFundi – explains this in an informative and somewhat entertaining way.

It starts off by showing us how the virus begins its journey through droplets entering your nose or eyes and then “hitches a ride as a stowaway” deeper into the body.

In what is probably the scariest part of the video, we learn how the virus releases “a real beast” on our weakest link: our own immune system.

Fortunately we also learn how, in most cases, the immune system slowly gains control again, killing the affected cells and intercepting the viruses.

Knowing your enemy enables you to fight him more effectively. Watch this video to further strengthen your armour with knowledge.
