Q: NWUtv was launched at the beginning of April. Why did the university decide to create this channel?

A: It will serve as an important tool to communicate the new strategic direction of the NWU. We believe it will be an effective instrument for Prof Dan Kgwadi, the vice-chancellor, to communicate important information relating to the implementation and workings of the new operating model for the university. The channel will also serve as a platform to communicate achievements of the institution, community engagement, research and innovation projects and good-news stories.

Q: Who does the NWU hope to reach via NWUtv?

A: All our stakeholders, including

external audiences such as alumni, businesses, donors, government and prospective students.

Q: What does the NWU hope to achieve with NWUtv - is it solely for entertainment and communication purposes?

A: The purpose of the channel is to bring all the stakeholders of the university closer together. We believe it is a channel that will enhance unity, especially between the three campuses. It is also a handy tool to showcase the best achievements, projects and developments at the NWU.

Q: What content is currently available on the NWUtv channel?

A: We currently have videos that focus mainly on community engagement.

Musa Zanempi, brand specialist at the NWU’s Institutional Office says the newly launched NWUtv is a wonderful platform for all stakeholders of the university.
