The winners of the 2017 NWU Alumni Awards of Excellence will receive their trophies at the award ceremony on 6 October 2017.

Step up and nominate alumni for awards

Many people excel in their careers and in the contributions they make in their communities, without necessarily being recognised for it. Now you can do something about that.

If you know fellow NWU alumni who excel professionally and make their mark in society, you should nominate them for the 2017 NWU Alumni Awards of Excellence.

By doing so, you will give them the opportunity to receive the appreciation they deserve and to be recognised publicly by their alma mater at the posh award ceremony on 6 October 2017.

You have until 8 May to nominate candidates for these awards:

  • NWU Alumni Awards of Excellence (categories: Research, Education, Community Involvement, Business Leadership, Arts and Culture, Sport, Public Service)

  • Young NWU Alumnus Award (For this award an alumnus who is 35 years or younger can be nominated in any of the above categories.)

Please note that current members of the NWU’s Council, the executive committee of the Convocation and the institutional management may not be nominated for the awards.

You can click here to read more about each of the awards and to access the electronic nomination form. Should you think you stand a chance of receiving an Alumni Award, you can also ask someone else to nominate you.

So, do not hesitate to become part of our nomination process – we depend on your participation for the success of this venture.
