Message from the president of the NWU Convocation
Dear alumni
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the amazing journey we have taken in the past six months. We are looking forward to the second half of 2024.
First of all, let me sincerely thank each and every one of you for your steadfast support of and commitment to the NWU.
Your dedication to our university – whether by taking part in activities, funding projects or just living up to the NWU spirit every day – has been incredibly motivating and has contributed to the advancement of this solid institution.
Visiting the heart of Namibia
It gives me great pleasure to reflect on our recent alumni roadshows to Namibia, where we travelled to Windhoek and Swakopmund.
These gatherings served as evidence of our commitment to connecting with our alumni wherever they are and developing relationships that cut across distances and borders.
Your attendance and involvement at these events were not only supportive but also essential in strengthening our relationship as stewards and representatives of the NWU.
Grateful when looking back
As I reflect on the first half of this year, I am sincerely thankful – our alumni have shown us so much support.
You have participated enthusiastically in our programmes, ranging from theology and law events, reunions and residence reunions to a BEd gathering, a public lecture, an event focusing on men’s wellness and supporting our communities by doing our part on Mandela Day.
Make your voice heard
I again urge all graduates to join the NWU Convocation and submit a membership application. You can get lifetime membership for a small charge of R50 and have your voice heard.
Your participation not only makes our community stronger but also guarantees that we can keep offering opportunities and assistance to upcoming generations of NWU alumni. You keep us accountable.
To conclude, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the NWU management team for their dedication and assistance. Their commitment has been crucial to our success, and I do not doubt that we can do even greater things as a team.
Sincerely
Bert Sorgdrager
