“A truly global affair,” presenter Sinki Mlambo, a communication expert and media personality, called this world-class concert. Like her co-presenter, actor and movie producer Tim Theron, Sinki and everyone else listening to the concert were mesmerised by their fellow-alumni’s performances.

These musicians participated not only from South Africa but from as far away as the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Austria, sharing their talents to encourage people to support the NWU’s Covid-19 Response Fund.

Following the example of our musical maestros, you too can contribute to this fund. By doing this, you help to provide students with devices (such as laptops) and connectivity, so that they can continue their studies online during the pandemic.

Alumni hit the right notes for fund-raiser

If you have missed the velvety voice of Anna Davel, or the gentle heart-warming song written by alumna and singer Perseverance Mkhonto, or the powerful performances given by baritone Jacques Imbrailo and tenor Jacques le Roux, click on the above video. Invite these fellow-alumni into your living room and prepare to be enchanted.

This is us:

It was a musical rollercoaster, a celebration of diverse music genres and great talent. Yes, it was the virtual NWU Alumni and Friends concert on 19 June, showcasing the astonishing talents of NWU alumni from all over the world.
