It represents positive traits that perfectly match the NWU’s strategy and objectives. They include success, aspiration, courage, expansion, renewed life, leadership and freedom.

 

Eagi symbolises our commitment to approaching life creatively and soaring above the rest. He reflects our talent for finding new opportunities to excel and continuously improve.

NWU boasts two M&G Young South Africans

Dr Aurelia Williams, a senior lecturer at the NWU subject group Biochemistry, and Dr Musawenkosi Saurombe, an NWU alumna, were announced as two of the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans at a gala event on 28 June 2019.

 


Matric learners praise NWU Winter School

Grade 12 learners who have been attending the Winter School on the NWU campuses in Mahikeng and Vanderbijlpark are impressed with the experience and the tuition they have received.

 

Attending the winter school from 23 June to 4 July 2019 these learners are now prepared and motivated to give their best in their final examinations.

 


NWU students joins United Nations Academic Council panel

Four master’s students from the NWU recently formed part of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) panel during its annual meeting at Stellenbosch University.

 

Prince Gontse Motaung, Tshegofatso Hazel Tomodi, Mpho Santho and Resego Letlhogile from the subject group Politics and International Relations were accompanied by their supervisor, Dr Norman Sempijja to the event that took place from 19 to 21 June 2019.

NWU appoints renowned business leader as its third chancellor

The NWU Council appointed Dr Anna Mokgokong, renowned business leader and entrepreneur, as its third chancellor during its meeting on 20 June.

 


New Technology Commons will enhance teaching and learning

The library on the NWU campus in Mahikeng is currently developing a Technology Commons which will consist of a MakerSpace, One Button and podcast studio.

 

With this addition, the Mafikeng Library will be the first across the NWU’s three campuses to sport these state of the art facilities.
