Message from the President of the NWU Convocation
Dear alumni
Since we have only just begun the academic adventure of 2024, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a year filled with happiness, success and fulfilment.
For those of us who have had the privilege of being part of its long and distinguished history, our alma mater has always been a bright example of quality and a source of pride.
As graduates, we bring with us not just the knowledge and skills we gained at the North-West University, but also a strong feeling of dedication and commitment to the institution’s continued development.
We have had a very good first-year student intake and have already kicked off the Varsity Cup rugby season. We’ve also watched how our first years excelled during their orientation sessions and enjoyed RAG with our young people, so we can say that this year is fully under way.
Help shape the NWU’s future
I encourage you to participate actively in the many activities and initiatives hosted by our university.
You play an important role in shaping the future of the NWU. You do this by volunteering your time to serve as a mentor to current students, using your skills to support academic programmes, or providing financial support to research endeavours and scholarship programmes.
Diverse, but united
Unity in diversity has always been a major tenet of our university, and the best way for us to make a difference is via the joint efforts of our alumni community, which includes people from a variety of backgrounds.
We come from all walks of life and have many distinct areas of expertise, and are all united in our unwavering love for the NWU and our desire to see it thrive.
Excellence is key
When planning for the future, it is critical that we remain open to new ideas and development opportunities while also building on prior accomplishments.
We can ensure that our alma mater continues to prosper in its mission of providing excellent education and having a positive impact on society by embracing innovation and cultivating a culture of excellence.
Thank you for your consistent support and commitment to the NWU.
