Taking the NWU to prospective students’ homes

If the Covid-19 pandemic prevents you from bringing prospective students to your campuses, you take the campuses to them. This is exactly what the NWU did on Saturday, 8 May, when we had a virtual open day, taking the NWU to the homes of our prospective students.

During this live virtual event, vice-chancellor Prof Dan Kgwadi welcomed the prospective students with a pre-recorded message, and four panellists shared what makes our university so special.

A video was screened during the event, giving an overview of each of our eight faculties and featuring current students explaining why they chose to study at the NWU and how the university is empowering them to become more than they envisaged.

The virtual open day has been followed up by webinars on the student life experience at our three campuses.

This video of the virtual open day reminds one what makes the NWU such an excellent academic institution, but also shows something of the warmth and care students experience at this “home away from home”.
