NWU, Vaal Triangle Campus, News: Memento Vivere I am alive!

Memento Vivere – I am alive!

The Alumni Office of the Vaal Triangle Campus (NWU Vaal ) of the North-West University is celebrating the joy of life and lifelong learning in 2011. A glamorous gala is being planned for the 7th of May and during this gala event the campus will pay homage to its postgraduate alumni members.

The event will see the musical spectacular of the year – Vivere!, taking to the stage to dazzle the audience. “Vivere” in Latin and Italian refers to “being alive” and as such the line-up includes some of the biggest and brightest stars in the local entertainment business, including Jannie Moolman, Joseph Clark and Annake de Villiers to name but a few. The production is directed by Elzette Maarschalk.

Vivere! is the ultimate cross-over show featuring musical genres like opera, rock, jazz, blues and even the classics. Guests will be entertained with songs like Miserere, All for love, Una furtive lagrima, Granada, Skipskop, Ne Me Quitte, Nessun dorma and La donna e mobile. The musical renderings will be done by several consummate musicians: Jaconell Mouton, Annake de Villiers, Nathan Smith, Trevor Donjeanny and Neill Ettridge.

According to Me Alwine Naude, the campus alumni co-ordinator, the event is set to be one of the biggest ever to be hosted by the campus and the idea is to not only thank the alumni fraternity for their continued support but also to honour them as custodians of academic learning and excellence.

A limited number of seats are still available. Registered alumni members can contact Alwine on 016 910 3250 or email Alwine.Naude@nwu.ac.za . Tickets amount to R120 per couple
