Ulutsha Lonke: The South African Youth Choir visits Campus

The sound of one of the best choral projects in the word, namely the South African Youth Choir (SAYC), recently filled the campus grounds.

The SAYC visited the campus as part of their national tour and took time out to undertake a tour of the campus and to learn more about the academic offerings of the University. Members of the choir reflect the demographics of South Africa and the choir is regarded as a celebration of unity within cultural diversity.

Ms Alwine Naude from the Department of Marketing and Communication addressed the students on student life on the campus as well as the role that alumni members play within the context of a university campus.

After the campus tour, several members of staff addressed the learners on study opportunities, cultural and sporting activities on the campus as well as an introduction to the campus choir – the Voices of the River.
