 Mode of delivery

What makes the training of ETD practitioners at the NWU Potchefstroom Campus unique is that they do not have to attend classes on a full-time basis. They can work while they study. Learners follow the vacation school model and attend two compulsory contact sessions on the Potchefstroom Campus during the April and September vacations.

Learners who have already achieved the equivalent of the first degree and who have the necessary experience may immediately start with an honours programme in training and development, which is presented in the same manner as the first degree. There is also a Masters and a PhD option

Admission requirements

The following are requirements for admission to the BTD (HRD) degree:

Minimum academic requirements: Senior Certificate (Matric) with exemption; If a candidate does not have exemption then 1 HG subject and 5 SG subjects with a minimum of an overall E symbol will be considered;

BTD programme requirements: As a recommendation a certificate in an Occupational Directed ETD Qualification on NQF level 4 or 5. If you don’t have an OD/ETD level 4 or 5 the other ETD courses, e.g. relevant unit standards, assessor, moderators, SDF, etc. will also be considered, and

Relevant working experience of at least 3+ years in the ETD/HRD environment.
