Beauty queen at home at NWU Vaal

It would seem as if the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal Triangle) is renowned for more than just it’s scenic beauty.  The Campus is also home to Mandisa Magwa who wears the coveted crown of Miss Emfuleni and who is turning heads everywhere she goes.  Mandisa is currently completing her BA Communications degree within the School of Languages.

Miss Emfuleni 2010
According to Mandisa she did not intent to enter the contest, but was persuaded by a good friend. The rest is, as they say, history!
As the official Ambassador of Emfuleni, Mandisa attends social events together with the mayor whilst also busying herself with several community outreach programmes. Two of these projects namely, the Emfuleni Shelter for Boys as well as the Lebohang Centre for the Disabled, are very close to her heart. Highlights of her reign include meeting the president of Cote de Voir as well as the Swiss soccer team during their stay in the Vaal Triangle during the 2010 World Cup. Apart from all her social responsibilities she is very glad to be graduation in record time – indicating that one can indeed juggle a hectic social calendar with academic obligations!
