The Unit for Space Physics was renamed Centre for Space Research in 2010 when we were awarded NWU Centre of Excellence status. This award reflects the quality of the research done over more than 50 years. Our students are highly regarded locally and abroad. We aim to provide world-class training in fields such as multi-wavelength astronomy including the study of most-massive galaxies, star formation, astrophysics, space physics and heliophysics.  As an MSc or a PhD student, you will become part of a team that includes world-renowned as well as up-and-coming young researchers, and dedicated support personnel
