Live life creatively

Scroll down

Dear colleagues,

They say that variety is the spice of life, but I think that creativity is just as strong a contender when it comes to adding zest to life.

In this edition of Eish! we feature various articles highlighting how creativity is fuelling our colleagues’ achievements. Take for instance the article on the new NWU YouTube channel, NWUtv. First of all, it takes creative thinking to envisage and bring to life the community projects featured on our YouTube channel, and secondly, it takes another big scoop of creativity to tell these good-news stories in the form of interesting videos.

Likewise, the elephant project of the Faculty of Education Sciences on the Potchefstroom Campus and the achievements of innovator FR Bezuidenhout speak of creative thinking and doing. Francois Pretorius, artist and chief of the Creativity Centre on the same campus, is another example of creativity at work.

Last but certainly not least, the Eish! design and layout team from Graphikos, the graphic design studio on the Potchefstroom Campus, also deserve to be crowned champions of creativity.

The secret is perhaps to live life creatively; to look through creativity’s glasses at life. See the challenges and solutions instead of the hurdles and problems. Be creative in all aspects of life, including your relationships – do not take anyone or any relationship for granted. In short: choose excitement instead of the mundane and discover your inner muse.

My inner muse? Are you serious?

Yes, we all have one (and some of us even more than one). In a recent email message from NWU Wellness4U, they talked about different ways to discover and hone your creativity. If you haven’t read this article yet, you can do so now by clicking here.

So, let’s embrace creativity wholeheartedly and sprinkle this spice everywhere we go.

Happy reading.
