PER publishes contributions relevant to development in the South African constitutional state. This means that most contributions will concern some aspect of constitutionalism or the law relating to development. The fact that the South African constitutional state is the focus does not limit the content of PER to the South African legal system, since development law and constitutionalism are excellent themes for comparative work and international law. Therefore, contributions on any aspect or discipline of the law are welcomed.

PER is included in the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) and is, therefore, an approved journal for purposes of subsidy for South African authors from 2004.

NEW EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

  • PER introduced an editorial fee of R45.00 per page with effect from 2015, the 4th edition.
  • The recommended length of a contribution is 10 000 words (footnotes included).
  • Complete and submit author declaration with your submission.
