Ms Elmarie Hattingh, secretary of the Health Care Centre, receives her prize from the well-known actor, Marlon Roelfze. Dr. Emile Kotzé stands with the bronze statuette he received.

The secretary of the Health Care Centre, Ms. Elmarie Hattingh, nominated him for the prize. She had to describe him in 200 words and mention why he deserves to be chosen boss of the year.
She wrote that they all admired him and thought he is very brave to come and work amongst a group of women with strong and dominant leadership characteristics. However, he quickly and effectively, but caringly, maintained law and order in the Centre. He also said he wanted no “workaholics”, because everyone there is firstly a woman and mother and then a dedicated worker..
She also wrote: “What a strange phenomenon it was, when we enter the building in the morning, to find you at your post already, and a deep, bubbling laugh raises our worst curiosity, only to find that the humour was for an extract from “Shrek Forever” someone had sent you via e-mail …..the realisation, you also have an endearing “humane side”, just like us all!“
Hattingh received a check to the amount of R10 000 for her recommendation. Kotzé has been manager of the Health Care Centre since July 2009.
