Engineering Professors share their expertise

Prof Frans Waanders, director at the School of Chemical and Mineral Engineering, attended the 4th International Freiberg Conference in Dresden, Germany, earlier this year where he made a presentation and was elected on the board of this conference.

Waanders also made two presentations at the 25th International Minerals Processing Conference in Brisbane, Australia, which he attended in September.
Earlier this month Prof Quentin Campbell, Associate Professor at the School of Chemical and Mineral Engineering, attended the 4th International Minerals Processing Symposium in Cappadocia, Turkey, along with Waanders where both made presentations. Shortly after this they travelled to the International Pittsburgh Coal Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, which took place from 11 to 14 October. Both also made presentations at this conference. Waanders has already also served on the council of this conference for a considerable length of time.
Both lecturers also visited the University of Newcastle, Australia, in September to bring about a possible mutual agreement. Both universities are prominent experts in the field of coal and not only will the academy and industry, but also students profit from such an agreement.
