Katlego Ramagaga, radio station manager on the North-West University’s (NWU’s) campus in Mahikeng, showed off her culinary skills as one of four contestants on the popular television cooking show Come Dine with Me South Africa in a bid to be crowned the winner and kitchen wiz.

Impressing your family and friends with traditional Tswana dishes has just become easier. Dr Nicole Claasen from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) Africa Unit for Transdisciplinary Health Research (AUTHeR), together with 129 women, has compiled a Tswana traditional food cookbook, A Taste of Vaalharts.

Jeanett and Zibusiso’s debating skills put NWU on the map

The North-West University (NWU) can finally boast about producing two of the best South African university debaters. Jeanett Mosala (25) and Zibusiso Ndlovu (20) who are both members of the NWU Debate Society, recently won the South African National Universities Debate Champions (SANUDC) in the category English as a Second Language.

New digital directory aims to boost township economy

Innovating for innovation’s sake is not innovation. True innovation comes from identifying day-to-day challenges and finding novel and sustainable solutions. This is according to North-West University (NWU) alumnus, Olivier Tshimbidi, one of the founding members of Khomba Africa, a new digital platform that aims to redirect spending to local townships and by doing so, revitalise the South African economy.

It’s that time of the year again, when all roads lead to kykNET’s most prestigious awards, the Fiësta’s. This year Antoinette Olivier, Dr Santisa Viljoen and Dr Conroy Cupido from the North-West University’s (NWU’s) School of Music have been nominated in the category: Best Achievement in Classical Music.
